It's easy to fall in love with Paris.
I know I’ve said it before, but Paris is my absolute favourite city in the world. My first trip was 12 years ago when I visited as part of an international study program. I can still remember memorizing the main Metro stops, visualizing the entire city in my head as I prepared to cross over from England! Fortunately, Paris lived up to my every expectation. It took just one bite into a madeleine and I was hooked!
My last trip was 7 years ago (which is so hard to believe!) I went to Paris for the week with two friends to run the Paris marathon. It felt so good to be back in a city I loved so much! The challenge of the marathon was exhausting, but it was great to accomplish my goal and reunite with Paris once again.
And now I am long overdue for a trip back. I only have a few more months to go, as I’ll be in Paris this fall for two days as part of a month long, round-the-world trip. While we were originally only going to be in Belgium, it felt like Paris was just too close to pass by! Some old haunts will be revisited – like my favourite bakery to get more of those madeleines – and hopefully I’ll also discovery some new gems as well.
