Find out why I love doing laundry when I travelA lot of people go on vacation to escape the everyday, mundane tasks of life. If you hate doing laundry, you may be skeptical about this post. But I’ve discovered that I LOVE doing laundry on vacation (and, as is often the case, sending my spouse out to do it as well!)
I am a passionate believer in only packing a carry-on bag, nothing else. Planning to do laundry several times ensures that I don’t overpack, and the few items I bring in my small suitcase stay fresh. On every trip, there are a few pieces of clothing that I wear again and again. Doing laundry allows me to enjoy wearing my favourites and guarantees that I’ll have something clean and available no matter the weather. No surprises there – doing laundry means you have clean clothing!! And it’s worth the few hours every time.

Camping at Sandbanks Provincial Park was about to get interesting...![]() I was so very much looking forward to our first mini-trip of the season – two days and nights camping at Sandbanks Provincial Park in Picton, Ontario. Having been to this park before, I knew we would love the gorgeous white sand beaches and the huge expanse of Lake Ontario – both so reminiscent of the ocean. The park is a lovely escape to nature and is well run. As well, the nearby charming town of Picton offers nice shops and good cafes. All in all, a good chance for a budget escape. Not quite the Atlantic coast, but it would do in a pinch. |
