There’s nothing I love more than getting my backpack out a week (or two!) before a trip, grasping my packing list (you all know how I feel about lists), and laying out my clothing for a trip. I envision all the exciting scenes where I’ll show off my little black dress and the hikes I’ll embark on in a new pair of trail runners. Every chance to travel is precious one and I want to enjoy every step of the process, from booking tickets and reading guidebooks to sorting through photos and distributing the souvenirs. It always pains me to hear people say how much they hate packing. Packing should be easy, uncomplicated, and stress free. Death Valley National ParkI can't believe that it's already the final day in July... I also don't think that there is a more appropriate photo to end with than this one. This picture was taken on July 31st in Death Valley - after it cooled down enough to walk the 200 feet over to the sign to get the photo. Thanks for following our July Photos of the Day. MacDonald's Cove, Nova Scotia Alongside on old pier just off of Highway 366 in Nova Scotia, this group of birds gathered for an unknown Atlantic Ocean concert. I feel bad for the 8-10 birds sitting in the back row. They did not get the good seats for whatever is going on out on the water. Parliament Hill, Ottawa Nothing says summer like a cloudless day playing tourist - this time in our home town. Here is a picture of the Library of Parliament, with the Peace Tower in the background, on Parliament Hill in Ottawa.
Honolulu Zoo I love this picture of the regal looking cat. It was taken at a zoo, rather than in the wild, but you wouldn't know that from this shot. What's my travel motto? I Scream for Ice Cream! Courtesy: letsmakerobots.com Ah, ice cream. The most beautiful food in the world! Like all self-respecting children, I grew up loving ice cream and now, as a super important grownup, I still make time for ice cream in all my travels.
For reasons unknown, my early childhood years were dominated by maple walnut, as repulsive a flavor ever I tried. Did everyone else have parents are cruel as mine? Things perked up considerably with the arrival of the Ice Cream Barn. Bay of Fundy, New Brunswick Home of the highest tides in the world, the Bay of Fundy between Nova Scotia and New Brunswick are a sight to behold. This shot taken just before the official low tide really helps to show the height difference between the two extremes. I highly recommend paying a visit to the Bay and checking it out for yourself.
