Ryan's looking to solve some of his packing problems.I’d like to say its easier for me to travel carry-on than it is for Vanessa. In theory, I have less to pack. In theory! In reality, I find that my items are generally bulkier and I tend to pack more of them. The problem is that I perspire -a lot. What I save in space by not packing dresses or skirts, I more than make up for with many undershirts, as well as bulky jeans and shorts.
Kona, Big Island, HawaiiIt's not often that I splurge on nice treats like an oceanfront room, but it was absolutely worth it in Kona, Hawaii. The rugged shoreline of hardened lava rock created spectacular crashing waves at night and we saw some amazing sunsets. It's hard to describe just how spectacular the crashing waves were but I hope this video gives you some idea - we had to close the windows at night to sleep, they were so loud! Northern OahuHawaii is absolutely beautiful, a real tropical paradise, and is justifiably famous for its lovely beaches. While it's nice to relax in the soft, white sand, I had just as much fun walking up and down the shores of Northern Oahu to see everyone engaged in water sports. Since it's highly unlikely that I'll ever surf, I was enthralled to watch those who do with such apparent grace. Here's a little bonus to go with the Pic of the Day. We just launched a YouTube channel to share our travel stories via video! We hope you'll check it out and subscribe at: https://www.youtube.com/user/TurnipseedTravel In one of our latest videos, you can see an amazing view of the Pacific Ocean and the Oahu shoreline as we take off from Honolulu. Zion National Park is filled with breathtaking natural wonders.Just over two hours from Las Vegas, the beautiful natural wonders of Zion National Park are perfect for a short day of sightseeing. I enjoyed it for the breathtaking geological formations, the unique plant and animal life, the many lovely photo opportunities, and the interesting and informative presentations by the park rangers. If your tastes run towards more adventuresome activities, Zion National Park has legendary hiking and climbing challenges.
Ottawa RiverFrom Ottawa's Parliament Hill, you can look out and enjoy a beautiful view of the Canadian Supreme Court, nearby Gatineau, Quebec, and the rapids of the Ottawa River.
A "beach" in MontrealFrom the twisting, turning cobblestone lanes of old Montreal to the wide open channels of the historic harbour, the Montreal waterfront has many attractions and amenities to discover. And in 2013, that list included a beach! There's sun, sand, showers, and even sangria - but no swimming! The currents of the St. Lawrence are too strong and the harbour too busy. But it is the perfect place for rest and relaxation and a great opportunity to unwind in the middle of the city. This urban beach concept might seem like a novel concept, but it's actually a bit of a copy cat. A similar urban beach is established each summer on the banks of the Seine in Paris. And if it works for the Parisians, well, it must be a great idea! Nova Scotia has incredible cities and shores. Can you imagine endless sandy beaches, the smell of salt air, and some of the friendliest people in Canada? This is Nova Scotia, home of celebrated writers, musicians, artists, and more universities per capita than the rest of the country. While the province of Nova Scotia is a popular travel destination for thousands of visitors each year, for me it was home. I grew up on Cape Breton Island and, while I don’t get back very frequently these days, I’m still eager to share my five favourite things I love about Nova Scotia (oh, and also a few drawbacks as well).
Sault Ste Marie, OntarioSometimes there's nothing better than being at the water on a cool fall day.
