Here's what's making December a happy month for me.
We are having such a nice December - the weather is absolutely amazing. We have had virtually no snow and warm, warm temperatures. It was the perfect night when we went to Parliament Hill after Travel Massive for the opening night of Lights Across Canada. This is a wonderful light show featuring winter motifs and animals that is projected on the front of the Parliament building and it's the most charming thing in the world.
The living room makeover
While I am loving the living room makeover results, I can't claim to have loved the process. For one thing, it is a real pain to paint 12 foot ceilings - almost as tricky as treating hardwood floors with Oliver as my 'assistant'. Still, all's well that ends well and we're happy to have said a fond farewell to the yellow walls.
Reorganizing my spice drawer
There is no happiness so sublime as an organized spice drawer. It may even surpass travel!
It's holiday baking time! This year I'm adding banana bread to the foodie mix. My secret: adding about three teaspoons of espresso powder (or three Starbucks Via sachets) to the mix. It changes EVERYTHING and it's absolutely delicious!
Last but not least......
Ryan and I want to thank all our amazing readers for sharing our travels and our lives and we wish you all a wonderful holiday season and the happiest of New Years.
