Lake Superior, the largest of the Great Lakes, is massive. It's more a fresh water ocean than a lake. It has been loved, awed, and respected for over a thousand years. It has been immortalized in legend, in poetry, and in song, and has many personalities.
Storms can roll across out of nowehere, especially in the fall. The two photos below were taken about 20 kms south of Lake Superior Provincial park in Northern Ontario. In October. 6 hours apart. From calm and beautiful to surging water and waves 6 feet high. The waves that day were up to 15 feet high on other parts of the bay. Just an awe inspiring lake.
